VIAC’s Response to Illinois Disaster Declaration

On behalf of Voya Insurance and Annuity Company (VIAC), we extend our sympathies to residents of Illinois who may have been impacted by recent storm activity. Our thoughts are with you and your loved ones as you deal with this crisis.

The Illinois Department of Insurance recently issued Company Bulletin 2018-12 (the “Bulletin”) to assist residents of Christian county. The Bulletin establishes safeguards for victims affected by this disaster. In accordance with the Bulletin, VIAC intends to provide the appropriate relief to its affected customers, to ensure impacted customers do not suffer any unnecessary hardship.

  • Time sensitive features required to be exercised by affected customers between November 23, 2018, and January 23, 2019 will be extended to March 25, 2019. Additional extensions may be approved by VIAC on a case-by-case basis if deemed reasonable given a customer’s specific circumstances.

  • Persons to whom the Bulletin applies may disregard any grace period, lapse-pending, cancellation, or non-renewal notices sent by VIAC dated between November 23, 2018 and January 23, 2019. Such customers who receive such notices from VIAC will have their grace periods extended an additional 60 days.
