David Marcinek

Chairman and Senior Managing Director, Venerable Holdings, Inc.

David is the Chairman and Senior Managing Director of Venerable Holdings, Inc. Before retiring from Goldman Sachs in 2016, he was co-head of the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Financing Group for the Americas in the Investment Banking Division (IBD) and co-head of the Insurance sector for FIG Americas. Previously, David was head of Financial Institutions Risk Management within the IBD Americas Financing Group. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1998 as an associate and was named managing director in 2005 and partner in 2008. David earned a BS in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University in 1993 and an MBA from Columbia University in 1998.
Patrick D. Lusk

President and CEO, VIAC

Pat is President and CEO of Venerable Insurance and Annuity Company (“VIAC”), the operating company for Venerable. He assumed this role in 2018 upon the establishment of Venerable. Previously, he served in a variety of roles for Voya Financial, where he most recently held the position of Chief Actuary and Head of the CBVA segment. He chaired the Actuarial Committee of the American Council of Life Insurers from 2016-18 and served on the board of the Chief Actuaries Forum during his time with Voya. Prior to joining Voya, Pat worked at Merrill Lynch, Colonial Life & Accident, and several other insurance organizations. He serves on the board of People’s Light, a professional theater company in Malvern, PA. He received a BA, magna cum laude, in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University.
Tim Billow

EVP, Chief Information Officer

Tim is Chief Information Officer of Venerable and provides overall leadership, management and strategy as it relates to technology investments, application development and support, infrastructure and IT operations. Tim has over 28 years of diverse IT experience in Fortune 100 companies like Voya, ING, JP Morgan and DuPont. Prior to joining Venerable, Tim was Senior Vice President and Head of Information Technology for the Voya Annuities, Individual Life, and Employee Benefits businesses. Prior to this Voya role, Tim led Voya’s Enterprise and Corporate Application teams for several years. Tim has a BS in Computer Science with a concentration in Business from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Lindsey Bollinger

EVP, Chief Implementation Officer

Lindsey is Venerable’s Chief Implementation Officer, and previously served as Vice President, Strategy and Implementation for Voya Financial from 2014 until 2018. In this role, she had oversight over program management, prioritization, functional area resourcing and project implementation for the Annuity, CBVA, Individual Life and Employee Benefits organizations. In addition she served as Chief of Staff for the President of Annuity and Individual Life and lead Strategy development. Lindsey joined ING in March of 2003 and has been responsible for supporting various business throughout her tenure with ING and Voya. She has over 20 years industry experience, having worked for Metavante in Princeton, Conde Nast and AIG in New York. Lindsey received her bachelor’s degree in Business/Communications from Rutgers University.
Ken Brown

EVP, Chief Operations Officer

Ken is Chief Operations Officer for Venerable Insurance and Annuity Company and President and Chief Operations Officer of the Venerable Broker Dealer Directed Services, LLC. He joined ING in 2005 and has served in a number of sales operations and management roles of increasing responsibility since. Ken’s background in managing and building operations and distribution strategies, coupled with his industry knowledge, was invaluable in leading Voya to many thriving new partnerships and successful sales performance goals. Prior to Voya, Ken spent 17 years in the publishing industry working for the Hearst organization leading teams providing BPO/ITES services. He received his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Northern Iowa.
Tim Brown

EVP, Chief Legal Officer

Tim is Chief Legal Officer for Venerable. He is an experienced attorney, with over 20 years of proven leadership and significant achievement in the legal field. Tim has extensive experience from working on numerous domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, corporate and capital restructurings, complex financings and problem-solving regulatory and risk management solutions. He has been Chief Counsel for Voya for the past five years. Previously he was the Vice President, Corporate Strategy for Voya Foundation, Senior Counsel for Voya Financial from 2007 - 2013, and Counsel for Voya Financial from 2002 - 2007. Prior to that he was a Corporate Attorney for Greenberg Traurig from 2000 - 2002 and for King & Spalding from 1998 - 2000. Tim received his J.D. From the University of Michigan and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee State University.
Thomas Hanson

EVP, Chief Risk Officer and Investments

Thomas is Venerable's Chief Risk Officer and Head of Investments. Prior to this role, he served as Head of Corporate Risk for Voya. From 2010-2013, he served as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for Voya’s Closed Block Variable Annuity and Annuity business lines. From 2008-2010, he served as Chief Financial Officer for ING Life Japan, ING’s insurance subsidiary in Japan. In this role, he was responsible for all finance and risk functions of this business, covering both variable annuities and life insurance. From 2000-2008, he performed various duties for ING Group in West Chester, including product development, financial reporting, and risk management. Prior to 2000, he worked at Manulife in Canada, based in the Canadian headquarters in Waterloo, Ontario. Thomas is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He received a BsC in Mathematics from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada.
Miles Kaschalk

Head of Corporate Development, Venerable Holdings, Inc.

Miles is Head of Corporate Development for Venerable Holdings. He has over 10 years of experience working in a range of roles within the life insurance industry. Most recently, he was Director and Actuary at Eldridge Industries, where he led the review of insurance related investment opportunities and provided support for strategic transactions to the senior management team of the primary insurance subsidiary of Eldridge, Security Benefit Life. Prior to joining Eldridge, he was Vice President within Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking division, an insurance credit analyst at Standard & Poor’s, and in an actuarial role at New York Life Insurance Company. Kaschalk is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and holds a B.S. in Actuarial Sciences and Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated summa cum laude and with honors.
Heather Kleis

EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer

Heather is Venerable’s Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to this role, she served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources, with Voya, and was responsible for leading and driving the talent and human capital strategy for the Annuity and Individual Life business, as well as with the Legal, Compliance and External Affairs, Risk and Human Resources functions. Heather joined ING in June of 2001 and has been responsible for supporting various areas of the business throughout her tenure with ING and Voya. She has led the Human Resources organization through significant change initiatives around culture, performance management, and overall HR strategy. Prior to joining Voya, Heather led Staffing and College Relations for Vermeer Manufacturing and began her career in recruiting with Northwestern Mutual Life. She received a business management degree in Human Resources from Central College.
Cynthia Meyn

Chief Operating Officer, Venerable Holdings, Inc.

Cynthia is the Chief Operating Officer of Venerable Holdings. Previously, she served as Executive Vice President and co-head of Investment Operations at PIMCO from 2008 - 2017. From 2006 – 2008, Cynthia served as Managing Director of North American Operations for Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Prior to that, she served as global co-director of Fixed Income and Derivatives Technology at AllianceBernstein and has held leadership roles as Managing Director of Global Fixed Income Technology at Cantor Fitzgerald; Chief Technology Officer and Chief Risk Officer at Mizuho Capital Markets; and Vice President of Derivatives Technology at Lehman Brothers. Cynthia started her career at Morgan Stanley in 1985 within both the Technology and Controllers & Accounting departments supporting the derivatives product business. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College in 1986, and her Masters in Business Administration at Duke University Fuqua School of Business in 2010.
Charles Schwartz

Chief Risk Officer, Venerable Holdings, Inc.

Charles is the Chief Risk Officer of Venerable Holdings. He has over two decades of experience in derivatives and insurance risk management, most recently serving as Head of Derivatives for AXA Equitable where he was responsible for the company's derivatives and hedging programs. Prior to his tenure at AXA, he served in hedging and risk management roles at Prudential Financial, and at AIG. Charles is also active in the financial-markets reform, having served as a member of the Alternative Reference Rate Committee (ARRC), which is the Fed-convened body overseeing the market transition away from US dollar LIBOR. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the ARRC's Outreach & Communications working group. Charles holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.
Dave Wiland

EVP, Chief Financial Officer

Dave is Venerable's Chief Financial Officer. He joined Voya Financial in 2009 and most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Closed Block Variable Annuity (CBVA) business, managing the finance, actuarial and hedge strategy teams supporting the business unit. Prior to this role, Dave was the head of Valuation for Voya’s Retirement, Fixed Annuity and Closed Block Variable Annuity business units. From 2009-2012, Dave was the Head of Annuity Risk Reporting for Voya’s Annuity business. Before joining Voya, he worked at The Hartford in a variety of roles in the Annuity and Life insurance businesses. Dave is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst and member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He received a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Penn State University.
